About Scott

I was born in Winter Park Florida in 1967. I was raised in Rockland Maine were I graduated high school in 1986. I started playing golf when I was 8 years old under the guidance of local golf professional Peter Hodgkins.

I enrolled at Ferris State University in there Professional Golf Management Program were I graduated in 1990, with a bachelors in business/marketing with a minor in Golf Course Management. During my time at Ferris State I observed many of the great teachers of the world demonstrate how to teach the game of golf.

Upon graduation I spent many years traveling between Maine in the summer months, and Florida for the winter months. I have worked in all aspects of public, resort, semi-private and private golf facilities before committing 100% of my time and efforts to that of teaching golf.

Currently you can find me at Nonesuch River Golf Club in Scarborough Maine where I am the Director of Instruction. I give private, group, and clinic formatted lessons to all age levels and abilities. I run the Mayer’s School of Golf (with a link here to the appropriate Golf School Page), which consist of one and two day, 6 hour long all inclusive instructional packages.
